Raising Fathers and Mothers
A Discipleship-Maker Training
When it comes to building a healthy life of faith, we are often reminded to put first things first. Raising Fathers and Mothers is a discipleship training designed to help us do exactly that.
Throughout the training, we will focus on foundational practices of disciple-making and learning how to live as the tangible, visible expression of Christ’s body in the world. We need leaders of twelve, leaders of fifty, leaders of hundreds, and everything in between.
We will explore healthy Kingdom rhythms and practical leadership skills such as:
• Healthy conflict and brave communication
• Preparing and leading group gatherings
• Personal discipleship and mentoring
• Empowered evangelism
• The power of fellowship, discipleship, and shared meals
• Developing a personal relationship and communication with the Holy Spirit
• Avoiding burnout in ministry
• Building healthy spiritual communities
Historically, many revival movements have had short lifespans because the outpouring of the Spirit came suddenly and the Church was not prepared to disciple the wave of new believers that followed. As people came to faith, the Church was simultaneously trying to train leaders and shepherd growing communities.
Our hope is to prepare the Church ahead of time by raising up mature disciples who are ready to lead well. Whether someone is called to lead a small group, mentor individuals, plant house churches, develop missional communities, or serve within traditional congregations,
the Kingdom needs leaders at every level.
The Church is meant to function as a healthy family. Leadership should reflect the heart of spiritual fathers and mothers who serve with wisdom, humility, grace, and authentic love. In Christ, every believer grows from being a spiritual son or daughter into becoming a brother, sister, father, mother, and eventually even a spiritual grandparent to others.
We need the whole family of God serving together.
The Spirit of God is moving powerfully across the world today. Our desire is to prepare people to partner with what God is doing right where they live. The mission field is not only on another continent — it is right outside your door.
This training is an opportunity to become a prepared and equipped servant of Christ before God pours His Spirit out in our neighborhoods.
God is moving. Are you ready to serve Him?
